Maybe you know this scenario: there is a digital decoder on your workbench and you want to test it prior to a perhaps complex installation. But how should you do this?
The Profi Decoder tester makes it easy for you: simply connect the tester to your central unit or the LokProgrammer. This allows you to test any decoder without exposing it to external factors caused by the locomotive that may affect its performance.
Functions
To make things as easy as possible for you, the Profi Decoder Tester is equipped with some handy features. It features all the common interface connections for connecting a decoder for the smaller models:
In addition to a 6-pin NEM 651 socket and the 8-pin NEM 652 socket, it also features a 21MTC interface according to NEM 660, a PluX22 socket and a Next18 interface: Whatever type of decoder you have: just plug it in – it fits! And that’s all there is to it!
Decoders without an interface can be contacted with individual terminals.
A high-quality coreless motor with flywheel serves in combination with LEDs indicating the direction for checking the motor power: it is thus quite easy to check the performance at low speeds and the even speed of the decoder. An LED monitor informs you about the operation of the headlights and reverse lights, as well as the function outputs AUX1 to AUX6.
For testing LokSound decoders, we have integrated a 20 mm speaker. You can choose whether the integrated speaker should be switched off or whether it should be 100 Ohm and 16 Ohm respectively – so the Decoder Tester is perfectly suited for any ESU decoder generation!
Two SUSI plugs facilitate direct testing of optional SUSI modules and connection to another circuit board.
The electrical connection to the central unit or the LokProgrammer is facilitated by a removable, 2-pole terminal block (the same system used on the LokProgrammer and the ECoS) or via two solder points.
Extension
Now there is an extension board that also allows you to connect our large-scale decoders to the Decoder Tester. With this extensive range of components, your Profi Decoder Tester will soon be an indispensable tool in your workshop!
