Current sensor

The ECoSDetector can monitor 16 track sections.The inputs can be individually switched between switch input (ground input) or current sensor via a sweater. The ECoSDetector can be used universally on all track systems and is therefore the first choice for all 2-wire drivers. Because the inputs, in which each can flow a maximum of 3A current, can be powered separately in two groups, each ECoSDetector can cover up to two booster circuits. Optocouplers ensure reliable detection.

Train number recognition

In addition to conventional track occupancy detectors, the ECoSDetector can also specifically monitor four out of 16 track sections: With the help of RailCom® technology (“local detector”), not only can it be determined whether there is a train on these sections, but also exactly which train it is (train number recognition). Of course, you will need Railcom®-compatible locomotive decoders for this.

Smart

By knowing exactly which train is on a route in combination with the ECoS routing module, new functions are created: for example, the barriers at a level crossing can be automatically lowered, or trains in the shadow station can look for a free track. The switch inputs or track occupancy detectors are electronically “debounced” to ensure reliable feedback even in the event of unreliable contact or heavily soiled rails.

ECoSlink connection

Each ECoSDetector is connected directly to the control center via the ECoSlink bus. In addition to all ECoS central stations, all Central Station® Reloaded with an update from ESU are also suitable. The galvanic separation of the bus system and the control center ensures the highest level of operational reliability and secure transmission to the control center. All ECoSDetectors are automatically recognized in the control center and integrated into the operational process. The devices are comfortably and conveniently configured directly at the control center and can also be run after installation.

Future built in

The control software of each ECoSDetector can be updated and expanded with additional functions if required: The required “update” is performed fully automatically by the control center if necessary. Thus, your ECoSDetector is always up-to-date with the latest technology.
