“Futuristic, crystal clear, colorful!” Modern multifunctional train station with corrugated roof based on original model built in 2018 in the Sauerland ski resort of Winterberg. Modeled after the local ski jump, the roof structure spans several modules of the building complex. In addition to the floor-to-ceiling glazed station hall with DB sales counter, kiosk and toilets, the building houses a civic service office with a tourist service point, rooms of the people’s high school and the health and district youth welfare office, as well as a restaurant. For this “citizen station” concept with a wide range of services, the station building received the “Station of the Year” award in 2018 from the “Allianz pro Schiene” association as the most customer-friendly train station.
