The LokPilot 5 micro is ESU’s smallest digital decoder to date. Thanks to the use of subminiature components, 8-layer circuit boards and the latest manufacturing technology, at only 8.0 mm x 7.0 mm and a thickness of only 2.4 mm (on the capacitor: 2.9 mm) it is so small that it is used even in very small locomotives. Nominal sizes Z, N or TT are suitable. Yet functionality and robustness were not spared compared to the larger versions. LokPilot 5 microdecoders are offered with all common interfaces. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface are slightly larger with a base area of 13.0 mm x 9.2 mm, but also speak for the mfx®-compatible M4 protocol.

Mode:
the LokPilot 5 micro is a true multiprotocol decoder. It masters the data format DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus® the decoders log in fully automatically to a suitable digital control center. It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® the CV values on the main track can be read with suitable control centers. There are ??auxiliary registers for control centers that can only program CVs from 1-255. Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses allow the activation of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also allows reprogramming with the venerable Control Unit 6021. The Next18 and PluX16 variants additionally enable automatic log-in to mfx®-compatible control centers thanks to the M4 protocol. All 32 possible function keys are offered here. The LokPilot 5 micro decoder recognizes Märklin® braking distances as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with direct voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic commuter train ABC allows automatic commuting between two stations. The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on analog DC trains. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 can also be used on analog AC systems. The maximum speed can be set individually. The decoder switches “”on-the-fly”” between operating modes fully automatically. Usually nothing needs to be set.

Functions:
we know that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. That is why we have equipped the LokPilot 5 micro with an amazing number of function outputs. The versions with 6-pin or 8-pin wiring harness offer 4 amplified function outputs with 180mA output current each and two logic level outputs for servos or Susi. Versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface have a total of 6 amplified outputs and two logic-level outputs. All major lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set individually. The decoder masters automatic engagement and disengagement at disengagement for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplers.

Motor control:
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 micro has again been fundamentally improved. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures super-quiet operation, especially with clock-anchor motors – the typical “”hum”” is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. Thanks to the unique “”Autotune”” feature, the decoder can be automatically calibrated to the motor. With a motor current of up to 0.75 A, the LokPilot 5 micro decoder provides sufficient capacity for the intended application scenarios.

Operational safety:
On request, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 micro to bridge contaminated track sections.

Protection:
of course, the motor output and function outputs are protected against overloading. We want you to enjoy your decoder as long as possible.
